Naomi Osaka returns to tour after nearly a year and three months away

Naomi Osaka (JPN) will return to tour action for the first time in nearly a year and three months at the Brisbane International (Dec. 31-Jan. 7/Australia/WTA500), the first event of the 2024 season 토토사이트.

Osaka, who left the tour after the Toray-Pacific Open in September last year, gave birth to her first child in July and is currently training for her return as a stay-at-home mom.

Brisbane is a tournament that suits Osaka well, having reached the final four in 2019 and 2020. “I’m really looking forward to getting back on the court and fighting,” she said on the tournament’s official website. I can’t wait to start the season in Brisbane,” she commented.

Tournament official X (@Brisbane Tennis) also welcomed the return of Osaka to Brisbane with a post saying, “(Osaka) is returning to the court! We’re looking forward to welcoming her back.” Osaka also reposted the post, writing, “First tournament next year. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Brisbane, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Osaka has won four Grand Slam titles and is ranked No. 1 in the world, so it will be interesting to see how she plays upon her return.
